QUINDOS Screw CompressorMTW-510-SCR-001
Inspection of Screw Rotors for a Screw Compressor on Leitz Coordinate Measuring Machines
The measurement of the screw rotor can be done with the rotor mounted in horizontal as well as in vertical position. A significant advantage compared to single purpose screw rotor inspection systems using a rotary table!
The option QUINDOS Screw Compressor includes the following features:
- Generation of nominal data and normal vectors for profile sections of male and female rotors
- Transformation from axial to transverse sections, and back
- 3D radius correction
- Actual-nominal comparison of the screw rotor profiles
- Best fitting of the profiles
- Evaluation of the pitch, lead and the lead deviation along the length of the rotor
- Pairing simulation of male and female rotors, with calculation of the gap The pairing simulation allows to measure a number of male and female screw rotors and then to match the best-fitting pairs.
No Rotory Table required for Screw Rotor Inspection!
With Leitz coordinate measuring machines and QUINDOS software a rotary table is not required for the measurement of screw compressors. Therefore various screw rotors as well as housings can be placed on a fixture and measured in one set up. This results in a dramatic increase in throughput and therefore significant lower inspection cost per compressor compared to conventional gear or screw rotor measuring systems.
Almost all leading manufacturers of screw compressors / screw rotors worldwide rely on Leitz Coordinate Measuring Machines and Leitz QUINDOS software for their quality control.
3D Coordinate Measuring Machines used for the inspection of screw compressors should have a probe head with High-Speed-Scanning capability and a small scanning probing error THP according to ISO 10 360-4, for example the Leitz PMM-C series.
