Automatic Inspection of Valve Guides and Valve Seats with a Leitz 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine.
The QUINDOS package Valve Guides and Valve Seats provides the automatic measurement and evaluation of valve guides and valve seats found in combustion engines. The valve seats must have at least 2 cone angles.
This option requires a 3D coordinate measuring machine (CMM) with a measuring (linear) probe system (not for triggered probe systems such as Renishaw etc.) and continuous scanning capability.
Measuring Valve Guides and Valve Seats the easy way:
After the operator has entered the valve guide and seat parameters from the drawing, the moving path of the 3D Measuring Machine, the probing points and the scan lines required are generated automatically.
Critical features such as the cone angles (on a short cone base) and the seat position in relation to the guide are evaluated with maximum repeatability.
Several valve-specific plots to visualize the measuring results are part of this package.
