QUINDOS Thread / API ThreadMTW-510-THR-001
Measurement of Threads and API Threads on a 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine.
With the option Thread / API Thread single start, multiple start, internal and external threads, cylindrical or API-type, can be measured on a 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine.
- Cylindrical Threads:
- API Thread Gauges (tapered Threads, American Petroleum Institute):
After entering the thread parameters, the moving path for the 3D measuring machine as well as the probing points are generated automatically.
The measurement of following types of threads / API threads is included in this option:
- Cylindrical Threads:
- Metric, ISO, Pipe, Trapeze, Saw tooth and Whitworth pipe threads
- according DIN 2999 and DIN 3858
- API Thread Gauges (tapered Threads, American Petroleum Institute):
- NC Gauges,
- REG Gauges
- FH Gauges
- according API specification 7, 40. Edition, Nov 2001, internal and external.
- Line Pipe Thread Gauges
- Casing Round Thread gauges
- Buttress Casing Thread Gauges (non symmetric)
- according API Specification 5B, 14. Edition, Aug 1996, Addendum 1, March 2004
With QUINDOS software and a Leitz Coordinate Measuring Machine a rotary table is not required for the measurement of threads. Therefore threads or API threads can be measured more accurately and several parts can be measured on a pallet during unmanned shifts.
A clear advantage compared to the conventional way of inspection of threads.
Measurement of API Threads Gauges with Leitz QUINDOS complies with the general procedures provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in USA.
