QUINDOS CurvesMTW-510-CRV-001

The package QUINDOS Curves provides the tools to measure, compute and evaluate 2D and 3D curves and contours on coordinate measuring machines.

For operations on curves and contours the following features are provided:

  • Probe radius correction even on 3D surfaces
  • 2D Best-fit of curves
  • Actual-nominal comparison
  • Interpolation and extrapolation
  • Smoothing of curves
  • Unwinding of curves
  • Differentiation and integration
  • Intersections of elements
  • Find global and local extreme values
  • Computation of normal directions
  • Connection of curve segments
  • Common fitting of several curve segments
curve measurement with QUINDOS software

Points on nominal curves can be generated according to mathematical functions.
Those points can be used as probing points for the Coordinate Measuring Machine.

Example:

Generation of probing points on a scroll using the formula:
X = sin(α) + k x tan(y)
Y = 1 + cos k

scroll inspection with QUINDOS metrology software

Best-fitting of two point sets or 3D curves.

The transformation between them, as well as actual-nominal comparison of each pair of points can be calculated.

This package includes a VDAFS interface to exchange data between the Coordinate Measuring Machines and the CAD systems.
This interface is used to describe point data of curves and has a sequential, readable format.
VDAFS elements can be converted into QUINDOS elements for further processing.
