PC-DMIS

The coordinate measuring machines by Leitz can alternatively be supplied with PC-DMIS.

PC-DMIS is customized for a CAD-based, computer-simulated program creation in connection with measuring operations on prismatic work pieces as well as for measuring and evaluating free-form surfaces. Features of this software are the comprehensive CAD direct interface, the graphics oriented, user-friendly user interface and high-performance tools for representing results.

The "Curves & Surfaces" option supports the measurement and analysis of form parts.

PC-DMIS uses 3D CAD data to generate parts programs with graphic parts models and probe path simulations online and offline.

Using the high-performance graphic environment of PC-DMIS, simulations can be created in order to find and correct program errors before the program is used on the CMM.

Thanks to the possibilities provided by 3D animation, elements such as digitised images of parts and fixtures on the machine can be integrated to check set-up and program visually first before the part is actually measured. In addition, visual aids can be included to provide the operator with explanations of particularly complex measurement tasks.

With PC-DMIS it is also possible to document unknown parts and generate computer models for reverse engineering.
