Leitz PMM-C Infinity


The Leitz PMM-C Infinity Coordinate Measuring Machine was developed with only one goal in mind: To build the most accurate CMM in the world.


Based on the experience of almost 30 years of developing and manufacturing high precision Leitz coordinate measuring machines, Hexagon Metrology GmbH decided to take the quest for accuracy one step further: The result is the Leitz PMM-C Infinity. Providing a length measuring error “E” of less than 0.3 + L / 1000 [µm] anywhere within a measuring volume of 1200 x 1000 x 700mm
→ The Leitz Infinity coordinate measuring machine has indeed reached a new dimension of accuracy. And most important: This unbelievable small measuring error is valid for real 3D measurements, as it is achieved with a 3D standard calibration using a high precision reference sphere.

With its accuracy and its low-force probe system LSP-S4 the Infinity is capable of measuring ultra high precision optical lenses and surfaces.

  • "Closed frame" design with fixed portal and moving table
  • Ultra high scale resolution: 4 nanometer (0.004µm)
  • Main structure made of granite and cast iron, no aluminium
  • Active pneumatic damping
